UGC 8335 = Arp 238 is an interacting galaxy pair in the constellation Great Bear . The two galaxies are connected by a bridge of stars and cosmic dust and are about 418 million light years from the Milky Way . Halton Arp organized his catalog of unusual galaxies into groups according to purely morphological criteria. This galaxy belongs to the class galaxies showing signs of splitting .
