The Leyendeckerstraße underground station is a station of the Cologne Stadtbahn . Of the district Ehrenfeld preferred U-station is from the lines 3 and 4 of Cologne Transport operated. It was opened in 1992 and has two tracks. Entry and exit are handled via a central platform .
location
The station is located in the Ehrenfeld district under Venloer Strasse , which leads out of Cologne in a north-westerly direction . There it is at the intersection of Venloer Straße with Leyendeckerstraße and Hospeltstraße.
architecture
The subway station has intermediate levels at both exits. The track level is located in a larger hall, the walls and ceiling of which are artistically designed as a unit. The vault design was extensively renovated in 2014, the stop could not be used at night between the end of October and the end of November due to the renovation work. A second construction phase to continue the renovation work is planned for spring 2015. The central platform is designed as a high-floor platform, with the existing elevator to the street the station is therefore barrier-free.

Line 3 runs every 10 minutes on weekdays. There are 32 stops on the approximately 22 km long route, which is traveled at an average speed of 26 km / h, of which 11 are underground stations. The line sometimes only runs from / to Holweide.
Line 4 also runs every ten minutes on weekdays. The route of line 4 is similarly long (22 km), with 29 stops (including 12 underground stations) an average speed of 28 km / h can be driven. In the evenings and on Sunday mornings, line 4 only runs to Bickendorf Rochusplatz .
