NGC 2762 is a lens-shaped dwarf galaxy of the Hubble-type S0 in the constellation Great Bear in the northern sky . It is an estimated 211 million light years from the Milky Way and about 15,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies NGC 2740 , NGC 2767 , NGC 2769 , NGC 2771 , among others .
The object was discovered by Bindon Blood Stoney on February 26, 1851 .
