IC 2404 is an elliptical galaxy with an active nucleus of the Hubble type S0 in the constellation Cancer on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 356 million light years from the Milky Way and about 40,000 light years in diameter.
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on March 2, 1896 .
