RJ Mitchell

RJ Mitchell was an Irish astronomer who was active in the 1850s. From 1852 to 1855 he was assistant to William Parsons, 3rd Earl of Rosse , with whom he discovered new objects that were later included in Dreyer's New General Catalog . According to William Parson, RJ Mitchell was an extremely careful and careful observer and, according to Dreyer, the discoverer of many objects whose descriptions have been published by his employer. In 1855 he made the first detailed drawing of the Crab Nebula .
