Erwin Dürkop

Erwin Dürkop , also Erwin Dürkopp (born September 28, 1908 , † October 28, 1988 ) was a German architect and construction clerk at the Deutsche Bundesbahn .

Life

Erwin Dürkop studied architecture at the Technical University of Stuttgart , graduating with the degree of a graduate engineer , and the track began a Baubeamten.

The German Bauzeitung mentioned in 1938 Erwin Dürkop as construction assessor in connection with the address East Road 110a in Duisburg . When in 1939 a closer architecture competition was announced between invited architects from the Lower Saxony area to obtain drafts for the new building of a youth hostel to be named after Hermann Göring in Torfhaus in the Upper Harz Mountains , Dürkop , now based in Clausthal-Zellerfeld , was one of the invited. In 1940 Dürkop got a job with the Reichsbahndirektion Hannover and was not called up for military service as a result.

In the post-war period, Dürkop worked in the rank of Reichsbahnrat or Federal Railroad Councilor . As an architect, he created the main train station in Braunschweig , one of his most famous buildings, with the staff of the technical office of the Hanover Federal Railway Directorate. The model was the Roma Termini train station , which opened on October 1, 1960.
