Arp 180 is an interacting pair of galaxies in the constellation of Eridanus . Since the galaxy has two rambling arms , it is believed that it is most likely the result of the merging of two galaxies. Halton Arp organized his catalog of unusual galaxies into groups according to purely morphological criteria. This galaxy belongs to the class of narrow filament galaxies .
