NGC 455 is a galaxy in the constellation Pisces on the ecliptic . It is around 264 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 155,000 light years. Halton Arp organized his catalog of unusual galaxies into groups according to purely morphological criteria. This galaxy belongs to the class of diffuse filament galaxies . In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 437 and NGC 446 .
The object was discovered by Albert Marth on October 27, 1864 .
