NGC 468 = IC 92 is a lens-shaped galaxy of the Hubble type S0 / a in the constellation Pisces on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 233 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 45,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky there are u. a. the galaxies NGC 472 , IC 1666 , IC 1669 , IC 1673 .
The object was discovered on November 22, 1827 by the British astronomer John Herschel .
