NGC 485 is a spiral galaxy from the Hubble type S in the constellation fish on the ecliptic . It is an estimated 104 million light years from the Milky Way and about 55,000 light years in diameter. It is a member of the seven galaxies counting NGC 488 group ( LGG 21 ).
The object was discovered on January 8, 1828 by the British astronomer John Herschel .
