NGC 482 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sab in the constellation Phoenix on southern sky . It is estimated to be 126 million light years from the Milky Way and about 60,000 ly in diameter.
The object was discovered on October 23, 1835 by the British astronomer John Herschel .
