NGC 479 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sbc in the constellation Pisces on the ecliptic . It's about 237 million light years away and about 75,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky is u. a. the galaxy NGC 446 , NGC 467 , NGC 470 , NGC 520 .
The object was discovered on October 27, 1864 by the German astronomer Albert Marth .
