IC 108 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type S0 / a in the constellation Whale in the southern sky . It is estimated to be 705 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 185,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies IC 98 and IC 99 .
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on November 3, 1891 .
