IC 119 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type SB (r) 0 / a: in the constellation Whale south of the celestial equator . It is around 272 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 100,000 light years .
The galaxies NGC 558 , NGC 560 , NGC 564 , IC 120 , IC 126 are located in the same area of the sky .
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on November 6, 1891 .
