IC 129 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type S0 / a in the constellation Whale south of the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 237 million light years from the Milky Way and about 100,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 593 , NGC 599 , IC 128 , IC 1714 .
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on January 3, 1891 .
