IC 144 is a compact galaxy of Hubble type C in the constellation Cetus south of the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 550 million light years from the Milky Way and about 110,000 light years in diameter.
The Type Ia supernova SNF 20080825-010 was observed here.
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on January 2, 1892 .
