IC 145 is a galaxy in the constellation Whale south of the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 575 million light-years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 120,000 ly. In the same area of the sky there are u. a. the galaxy NGC 622 .
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on December 12, 1893 .
