IC 163 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBdm in the constellation Aries on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 128 million light years from the Milky Way and about 65,000 light years across. She is a member of the ten galaxies NGC 691 group ( LGG 34 ).
The object was discovered by Truman Henry Safford on December 27, 1866 .
