IC 169 is a galaxy of Hubble type S in the constellation Cetus south of the ecliptic . It is an estimated 379 million light years from the Milky Way and about 55,000 light years across.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 699 and NGC 715 .
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on January 2, 1892 .
