IC 169 is a galaxy of Hubble type S in the constellation Cetus south of the ecliptic . It is an estimated 379 million light years from the Milky Way and about 55,000 light years across.

In the same area of ​​the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 699 and NGC 715 .

The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on January 2, 1892 .
