IC 176 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sc in the constellation Cetus south of the celestial equator . It is estimated to be 200 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 110,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky is the galaxy IC 185 .
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on December 3, 1891 .
