IC 174 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type S0 in the constellation Pisces on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 235 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 90,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies NGC 718 , IC 1750 , IC 1754 .
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on November 5, 1891 .
