IC 180 is a spiral galaxy of the Hubble type Sb in the constellation Aries on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 224 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 50,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky there are u. a. the galaxies NGC 776 , IC 181 , IC 189 , IC 190 .
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on December 15, 1892 .
