IC 198 is a spiral galaxy from the Hubble type S in the constellation ram on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 416 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 135,000 ly.
In the same area of ​​the sky are the galaxies IC 199 , IC 201 , IC 202 , IC 1778 .

The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on December 15, 1892 .
