IC 208 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type SABC in the constellation whale at the southern sky in face-on position and is estimated to be 160 million light-years from the Milky Way center. It is in optical proximity to NGC 825 .
The object was discovered by Guillaume Bigourdan on December 3, 1888 .
