IC 185 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sab in the constellation Cetus south of the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 591 million light-years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 85,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky there are u. a. the galaxies IC 176 , IC 186 , IC 1756 , IC 1757 .
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on December 14, 1892 .
