IC 156 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble-type (R) SAB (rs) a? in the constellation Pisces on the ecliptic . It is around 250 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 100,000 light years .

The object was discovered on December 15, 1892 by Stéphane Javelle .
