The Browar Zamkowy Cieszyn Sp. Is a Polish brewery company based in Cieszyn ( Teschen ), which is in possession of since 1998 Grupa Zywiec , a subsidiary of Heineken is. The output is around 160,000 hectoliters per year.
history
Beer was brewed in Cieszyn in the 15th century from the spring water of the Olsa , which rises in the Silesian Beskids . The brewery was founded in 1847 by Archduke Karl von Österreich-Teschen , the owner of the Teschener Kammer , as the Archducal Castle Brewery Teschen on the Burgberg and expanded by his son, Archduke Albrecht . It was nationalized in the 20th century and privatized after 1989 and came to Grupa Żywiec in 1998.
