IC 100 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type SB0 in the constellation Whale south of the ecliptic . It is around 237 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 75,000 light years .
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on December 14, 1892 .
