NGC 475 = IC 97 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type So / a? in the constellation Pisces on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 725 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 85,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky there are u. a. the galaxies NGC 469 and NGC 471 .
The object was discovered on November 3, 1864 by the German astronomer Albert Marth .
