IC 93 = IC 1671 is a spiral galaxy with extensive star formation areas of the Hubble type Sb in the constellation Whale south of the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 267 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 100,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies IC 1667 and IC 1670 , among others .
The object was discovered by Lewis Swift on September 18, 1889 .
