IC 73 is a spiral galaxy from the Hubble type S in the constellation fish on the ecliptic . It is about 284 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 75,000 light years in diameter .
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 396 and IC 74 .
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on August 20, 1892 .
