IC 91 is a spiral galaxy from the Hubble type S in the constellation Cetus south of the ecliptic . It is around 318 million light years away from the solar system and has a diameter of around 45,000 light years .
In the same area of the sky is u. a. the galaxy NGC 467 , NGC 470 , NGC 474 .
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on January 8, 1891 .
