IC 98 is an elliptical galaxy from the Hubble type E0 in the constellation Cetus south of the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 715 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 145,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies IC 95 , IC 99 , IC 108 , among others .
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on November 3, 1891 .
