IC 61 is a compact Galaxy from the Hubble type C in the constellation fish on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 506 million light-years from the Milky Way and about 180,000 light-years across .
In the same area of the sky is u. a. the galaxy NGC 332 .
The object was discovered on November 10, 1892 by Stéphane Javelle .
