IC 50 is an elliptical galaxy from the Hubble type E0 in the constellation Cetus south of the celestial equator . It is estimated to be 276 million light years from the Milky Way and about 55,000 light years across.
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on September 27, 1892 .
