NGC 332 is a compact galaxy of Hubble type C in the constellation Pisces on the ecliptic . It is an estimated 238 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 70,000 light years in diameter .
In the same area of the sky is u. a. the galaxy IC 61 .
The object was discovered on October 22, 1886 by the American astronomer Lewis A. Swift .
