NGC 322 is a lenticular galaxy in the constellation Phoenix , approximately 316 million light years from the Milky Way . Together with PGC 95427 , it forms an interacting pair of galaxies, which are only 0 ′, 2 separated from each other.
The object was discovered by John Herschel on September 5, 1834 .
