NGC 334 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBb in the constellation Sculptor in the southern sky. It is an estimated 410 million light years from the Milky Way and about 145,000 light years in diameter .
The galaxy IC 1608 is located in the same area of the sky .
The object was discovered on September 25, 1834 by the British astronomer John Herschel .
