NGC 314 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type SB0 in the constellation Sculptor in the southern sky . It is an estimated 250 million light-years from the Milky Way and about 70,000 light-tubes in diameter.
The object was discovered by John Herschel on September 27, 1834 .
