IC 1608 is a lens-shaped galaxy of the Hubble type S0 / a in the constellation Sculptor in the southern sky . It is an estimated 153 million light years from the Milky Way and about 90,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky is u. a. the galaxy NGC 334 .
The object was discovered by Lewis Swift on October 3, 1897 .
