IC 1618 is a lens-shaped galaxy of the Hubble type S0 in the constellation Pisces on the ecliptic . It is an estimated 218 million light years from the Milky Way and about 75,000 light years in diameter. Presumably it forms a gravitationally bound galaxy pair with PGC 212654 . Together with 21 other galaxies, it is a member of the NGC 452 group ( LGG 18 ).
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 373 , NGC 375 , NGC 379 , NGC 380 .
The object was discovered on December 2, 1896 by the German astronomer Hermann Kobold .
