IC 1627 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBb in the constellation Phoenix in the southern sky . It is estimated to be 271 million light years from the Milky Way and about 200,000 light years across.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies IC 1621 , IC 1630 , IC 1631 , IC 1633 .
The property was discovered by DeLisle Stewart in 1899 .
