IC 1638 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type S0 in the constellation Pisces on the ecliptic . It is an estimated 220 million light years from the Milky Way and about 45,000 light years across.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 410 , NGC 414 , IC 1636 , IC 1648 .
The object was discovered on October 17, 1903 by the French astronomer Stéphane Javelle .
