NGC 414 ( NGC 414A ) is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble-type S0 in the constellation Pisces on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 218 million light years from the Milky Way and about 50,000 light years in diameter. With PGC 93079 it forms a gravitationally bound galaxy pair and together with 21 other galaxies it is a member of the NGC 452 group ( LGG 18 ).
The galaxies NGC 407 , NGC 410 , IC 1636 , IC 1638 are located in the same area of ​​the sky .

The object was discovered on October 22, 1867 by the Swedish astronomer Per Magnus Herman Schultz .
