NGC 425 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type S in the constellation Andromeda on the northern sky . It is estimated to be 295 million light years from the Milky Way and about 85,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of ​​the sky is u. a. the galaxy IC 1647 .

The object was discovered by Truman Henry Safford on October 29, 1866 .
