IC 1654 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBa in the constellation Pisces on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 225 million light years from the Milky Way and about 85,000 light years in diameter. Together with 21 other galaxies, it is a member of the NGC 452 group ( LGG 18 ).
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 444 , NGC 452 , IC 1659 .
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on December 6, 1899 .
