NGC 447 = IC 1656 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type SB0 / a in the constellation Pisces on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 257 million light-years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 165,000 light years . a. the galaxies NGC 443 , NGC 449 , NGC 451 , IC 1648 .
The object was discovered on October 8, 1861 by the German-Danish astronomer Heinrich Ludwig d'Arrest .
