IC 1630 is a spiral galaxy of the Hubble type Sb in the constellation Phoenix in the southern sky . It is an estimated 302 million light years away from the Milky Way and is approximately 135,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies IC 1621 , IC 1625 , IC 1627 , IC 1631 .
The object was discovered by astronomer DeLisle Stewart in 1899 .
