IC 1603 is an elliptical galaxy of Hubble type Sc in the constellation Phoenix on southern sky . It is estimated to be 350 million light years from the Milky Way and about 135,000 light years in diameter.
The galaxy IC 1595 is located in the same area of the sky .
The property was discovered by DeLisle Stewart in 1899 .
