IC 1586 is a compact dwarf galaxy of the Hubble type C in the constellation Andromeda in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 266 million light years from the Milky Way and about 20,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies IC 1583 and IC 1585 .
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on November 23, 1897 .
